Deep in the heart of Meadow Wood

I love go western day at MWE, and our tradition of square dancing for our parents. This year we decided to have our pk/k rodeo on the same day. What a day!! Our little cowboys and cowgirls were plum tuckered out! And so was their teacher!

Cloudy with a chance.....

Today for science we went outside and drew pictures of the clouds. We have been talking about weather, day vs night activities and seasons. In our science journals we have been logging the weather everyday on a calendar. Here are some pictures of my little meteorologists observing the clouds.

Hooray for the 100th day of school!!

We have been counting the days of school since day 1.  Today we have been in school for 100 days...Hip Hip Hooray.  We celebrated by wearing our 100 fruit loop necklace, 100 ribbon, and we carried our 100 day flag.  We marched to the front hallway and through 1st grade.  After the parade, we went into our extra room and sang 100 day songs and poems and read a 100 day book. The most popular activity was licking a tootsie pop 100 times.  For snack the students had to make their cookies look like the number 100, and then they could eat it.  We can't believe we have been in school for 100 days......we are more than 1/2 way through....WOW!!!!!
